A new digital magazine, "AR Guns and Hunting," has launched. Content includes tips, history and discussions about equipment related AR rifles. The magazine, published by Grand View Media Group, is an indicator of the increasing popularity among hunters for AR-platform rifles. The launch coincides with NSSF's national campaign to educate sportsmen about the "modern sporting rifle."

Boy did you guys blow it with this one. First of all I must say that I have been a big fan of the NSSF up until now. I am the producer of the ProArms Podcast and our current episode has a segment on the First Shots program and how great the NSSF is bringing more women into the shooting sports.

Now here comes the but... This new magazine "AR Guns and Hunting," just undermines all the good work you have done to attract women to the sport. I doubt that any serious female shooters would dress like your model in this first issue, imagine where all that hot brass would go. You want to keep women involved once you introduce them to the sport? Then show real women dressed like real women do when they are shooting and leave the sleaze to somebody else.
Oh, and the "Little lady" comment in your article on the under bed safe; are you kidding?

Even though the NSSF has nothing to do with the magazine you are the group promoting it on your website and you are now linked together in the minds of many of your members.
I understand that you have a program in place to educate sportsmen (and women) about the modern sporting rifle but all this does is to reinforce the stereotype that all shooters are nothing more than knuckle-dragging Neanderthals. We need to do everything possible to encourage women and children to get involved in the shooting sports and something like this just undermines all of the progress that has been made in the last 20 years.
I’m curious if anyone at NSSF actually bothered to look at the magazine before they decided to promote it??

I may have jumped to conclusions about this magazine being published by the NSSF but that was a leap many of your readers, fans, customers and members may also take. The magazine is heavily promoted by the NSSF and you have a three page spread in it. I am glad that you are not responsible for the contents of this magazine but I am sorry that you are supporting it and hope you will reconsider.
