What about we that collect and shoot automatic weapons for sport? We don'ty hunt with them but we do compete and collect and shoot them. Are we to be sold down the river?

Education and responsibility is what is needed, not regulation on the type of firearms. No one should have the ability to tell us what to collect/buy/shoot or own- gun control has and will always be about control- not the guns......

Why is/was nothing said about self defense, which is one of the most important aspects of gun ownership? Self defense is a God-given right that is guaranteed by our Second Amendment. It is not something "allowed" by any government. Tell the UN to keep their dictatorial noses out of our business. I've seen how gun-control works in Africa - only the criminals have them, much like Mexico. People cannot defend themselves, and it's WRONG!

John Adams

This is the same sad excuse for owning guns that the NRA tried (and failed their membership with) over a decade ago. The NRA tried to convince the anti-gun folks that all we wanted to do was shoot targets or hunt...when in truth, Americans have guns because they can't trust their government to protect them from harm, and they can't trust their government not to cause them harm. Stop packaging gun ownership into something the world can digest, all nice and sugar coated... We own guns so the UN and their lackeys will be afraid to come into our country and impose martial law. American citizens own guns so that anyone who wants to deprive them of liberty has to pay a high price for their actions.
